Keith Chappell
From his early days developing digital process controllers, Keith moved into power generation control and commissioning with Babcock Energy, delivering complex control integration projects, globally.
Keith moved to Siemens to gain control over his location and start a family, however having made a name for himself as a problem solver, the travel continued, as did the wife’s discontent, moving to RWE Tilbury Power Station in the UK to head the ECI team and drive through a complete station DCS installation resolved the geographic issues of procreation.
Having completed the DCS Installation, Keith had time on his hands, time he spent working out ways to subvert the new DCS system and then apply mitigations to these identified vulnerabilities. Not surprisingly these activates came to the attention of the RWE seniors (its strange how hacking tends to do that) and Keith was made responsible for securing New Build Fossil Fired Generation for RWE.
Keith spent time as Director of Projects and Services for Emerson Process Management Power and Water Solutions again with a Cyber focus and after a short period with i2O water mitigating water leakage as a result of un-expectantly gaining an environmental conscience, Keith joined L-3 TRL, where he is the Technical Director for CNI & Cyber Security.
Keith is a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society, a member of the Institution of Engineering Technology, a Licensed Penetration Tester and has previously held memberships of the NFPA and ISA. Keith holds the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) CCP (Certified Cybersecurity Professional) at Lead level for Cyber Security and Information Assurance.
